I've recently gotten into doing more urban exploration, which is basically exactly what it sounds like. Memphis is a great place to go on an urban exploration. The downtown/South Memphis areas are great because a lot of the older buildings are being renovated or demolished for newer buildings.

On this particular evening, at an undisclosed location, I met up with a group of super amazing photographers. We playfully called ourselves the Suicide Squad that night. We even had a Harley Quinn! The name was fitting because we were definitely on a suicide mission to get some great shots.

Entrance into our undisclosed location was pretty straight forward. We walked through the front door. After investigating a bit, we decided to head to the roof for some cityscape shots. The ladder going up was super sketchy, but I overcame my fear of heights because everyone else did it.

Next up we decided to head back inside the building to get some shots inside. One of the guys brought some smoke bombs along and the real photography work was done.

While snapping we noticed a really cool tunnel that led underground. It was a great backdrop for more photos. The depth of the tunnel mixed with the light was everything!! It would also make for some cool smoke bomb shots.

I really enjoyed this adventure. Not only did I get to take some great photos, I also got to hang with some individuals that I call my friends. We are all completely different, but we all share a love for capturing moments and experiences. I can't wait until the next urban exploration meet up. Until then, I will be going out myself to find new and interesting things around Memphis.
