I recently went to Oshi Burger Bar on Main St. This place is a must go in Memphis if you like themes and decor! It has these little surprises scattered around like a mini scavenger hunt! Each time I go I find something new that I've never seen before like the "DOJO OPEN" sign. I have no clue how I missed that!
Being that Oshi is located on Main St., it's in a prime location for people watching, one of my favorite pastimes. Oshi is located at the corner of BarBaro Alley and Main, directly next to Aldo's Pizza and across from Local.
One of the first things you'll notice when walking into Oshi Burger Bar also happens to be the coolest thing, a mural featuring Jim Belushi as a samurai! I don't think you'll find anything else this cool in Memphis!
Oshi Burger Bar is described as American classics with a Japanese twist and that's exactly the most accurate description. Everything from the from chopsticks on the tables to the seating has a Japanese vibe to it.
There's is just so much to see and take it. It's truly an experience even before you get a chance to order any food. Check out the artwork on the walls!!
The food is just as decorative as the interior. The burgers are served up on a Japanese themed plate and come with little personalized Oshi toothpicks. Well played Oshi Burger. Well played.
I started out with the pot stickers. They were fried just right and tasted like most fried dumplings I've had before. The twist? Well they didn't come with soy sauce. They came with a thicker ginger based sauce that was very good. A very welcomed switch up.
Next up I had the Bad Mutha Clucker and skinny fried with Kimchi, Bacon, and Beer Sauce. The Bad Mutha Clucker is amazing! It's blacked chicken, peppered bacon, cheddar, and slaw on a brioche bun!! It was great! I can't recommend trying this enough! Oshi's in-house sriracha ketchup, which they also sell, is incredible! I'm normally not a ketchup fan but this has some heat that I love!
The Fathers Office burger is a great burger if you like Bleu Cheese. I'm not the biggest fan of Bleu cheese by this burger was very good nevertheless.
I capped it all off with a Godzilla shake. Because I have an insatiable sweet tooth, this was the highlight for me! You get a milkshake that has alcohol in it! Best of both worlds!! They do come in a No Booze version for the little ones.
I highly recommend you trying Oshi Burger Bar out. They have great options from burgers, dogs and shakes. They also feature a full bar and multiple screens to watch the Grizzlies or Tigers play. They also feature local brews on tap from Memphis Made, High Cotton and Wiseacre.
So get out Memphis and try Oshi Burger! Thank me later for recommending it. It's a great experience with even better food that's reasonably priced. Oshi also caters so check them out when planning your next event!!
