Sista Strut Photo Recap

Over the weekend, I had the privilege of attending the 2nd Annual Sista Strut put on by iHeartMedia Memphis. The event took place at Tiger Lane. This event did not disappoint at all. It was a day of triumph, laughter and tears. It was truly incredible to see so many beautiful faces get together for a cause. It was also bittersweet to know how many women and men have been effected by breast cancer.

The goal of Sista Strut is to bring awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color. Studies show that African American women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age and have a death rate from breast cancer twice that of Caucasian women of the same age. So education and early detection is key! Ladies, please check yourselves regularly in addition to your regular doctor visits!

Here's a photo recap of the awesome day and participants!!!

I would like to thank all the iHeartMedia crew for being such gracious hosts. I really love working with them and they are always very accommodating and supportive of what I'm doing over here at From top to bottom, they are a group of very giving and enthusiastic people. I thank you all for the opportunity to work alongside you guys again!

In closing, this was an outstanding event to show to power and worth of all women as well as how important it is to get regular checks. I would like to personally say to all survivors that you are truly amazing! For those who have lost loved ones to breast cancer, know that their loves were not in vane and this was a tribute to them and their lives. They live on forever through our memories.

Life is for Living,

Michael B.
