Had a longer than normal first part of my work day, so I had to have lunch late. I did my usual Yelp search for something nearby and of course local. I saw Rafa's. I've been there before but today was like it was meant to be. I saw it on Yelp and then I heard a commercial on 92.9 ESPN with an ad for Rafa's. Subliminal marketing works!!!

It must be my lucky day!! I walked in and saw an omen! Steak and Bacon tacos!!! Can you really turn that down? I had to have them. It was meant to be! I also decided to try the deep fried taco. I was having a fat kid moment.

As you can see, this was real steak with real bacon. None of that imitation stuff. This was a real mans man taco. It was huge!! I severely underestimated it. It was great! I didn't bother with any salsa. I wanted it straight up and I now need a nap lol.

The deep fried taco took me back to my days in Cali. There I learned the mystic ways of Jack-In-The-Box. The best thing, on their menu if everything, was the fried tacos. Oh how I loved those tacos! They were also 2 for $1!! We would eat them by the truckload. This fried taco is a fancier version of that. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. I enjoyed this one way more! Topping it was the right move!

I really enjoyed Rafa's for my late lunch. I took all the pictures with my iPhone 6, so don't judge! Go check them out and tell me how your experience is. Drop a comment below so everyone knows if you liked it. Rafa's is located at Poplar and Kirby. It's sandwiched between the McDonalds, Kroger and Tropical Smoothie.
