Most people who know me also know about the two widely popular people in my life, Maddy and Petey. Maddy is my daughter and Petey is my son. He's my first born. Technically I bought him, but he's still my kid.
So yeah my kid has 4 legs and I'm in no way ashamed about this. Petey Geronimo is my 10 year old rat terrier and he's pretty much been attached to my hip since he was 6 weeks old. Those ears have been the same size his whole life. He's one of the best dogs I've ever owned and our personalities match incredibly.
So we decided to head to Shelby Farms to check out the sunflowers before they went away. This was Petey's first trip and he was in heaven. He's never on a leash, but he's never had this much space to roam and be a dog.
The sunflowers were amazing! There were busy little bees and butterflies everywhere working for the fall and winter and of course it was hot!! The Heat of Memphis is legendary and today was no exception to this.
We had a great walk and day together. Petey ran until I had to carry him back to the car. I guess his age is finally catching up to him because he's been sleep on the couch since we got home.
But before we left, we had to take some awesome selfies!!! It's pretty much customary!
Go check out the sunflowers before they are gone! We saw them right off the side of Walnut Grove. It would make a great outting and definitely a great spot for a photo shoot. You can also see the corn stalks growing for the corn maze that's coming in late fall.
