The Southern Heritage Classic is the official start to the fall for me. The game features Jackson State University against Tennessee State University. I'm biased towards TSU because I've spent a lot of time on that campus for some reason or another.
The highlight of the game usually is the halftime show, which showcases the Battle of the Bands! For me, the tailgating is the highlight. Did I mention how much I love food and just being around it? No? Well I do!!
When my cousin invited me to come to a tailgate party he was attending, I jumped at the opportunity. His friend, Greg Shaw and family, were hosting and I decided that if I was gonna partake in breaking bread, that I should at least snap a few pics.
There was food everywhere and I was in heaven! I didn't even mind the countless Dallas Cowboys fans that were walking about! Lol.
Well, this is probably already too much reading, so I'm just going to post the pics. I know what you came for!
As you can see, I had a great time! I ate until I was on the verge of taking a nap in the car! I didn't make it inside the stadium for the game, but you could definitely hear the crowd from outside of the Liberty Bowl.
I hear those tigers from Tennessee State University won!!
