Sunday Funday in 35mm

I love Sunday Funday!! I also love getting a new glass for my camera. So I decided this would be perfect to test out my new lens while enjoying Sunday Funday!

I've been wanting a 35mm lens for a while because I wanted a different look from my 50 and 85mm lenses. I'm a huge fan of vintage lenses and manual focus. Thankfully Sony makes manual focusing insanely easy with focus peaking. Vintage lenses give me that film look that I absolutely love as well.

The lens I picked up from eBay is the Minolta MC W.Rokkor-HG 35mm f 2.8. This is a lens from the 60's, yeah it's almost 60 years old! I love how small it is on my Sony a7ii even with the Neewer adapter. It's also built like a freaking tank!

I like the quality of the lens even though it's a bit soft wide open at 2.8. Stopping down to f.4 helped but I find it a bit limiting to operate at that f stop or beyond to get an image that's sharp across the frame. I will probably use it more to see if I really want to keep it. Even if I don't like it I didn't invest too much into this lens. It was only $35 on eBay. I still like my Sony 28mm f2 a bit more; mainly for the wider aperture.
