No not that type of Liquor Store. I’m talking about the Liquor Store on Broad Ave. It’s a diner/bar that has caught my eye recently. It’s a very unassuming building that doesn’t particularly stand out at all. You’ll probably pass it if you’re not looking. It’s a small white brick building with a Liquor sign on it. A bat signal for those who love to drink.

Ever wanted to go to Cuba but didn’t have the funds? Well, The Liquor Store is kinda like hanging in Havana with a Cuban cigar riding in a drop top car from the 1950’s. Ok maybe it’s not exactly like that, but it’s the closest you’re getting to Cuba here in Memphis. Check out all that natural light!! A photographers heaven!

I’ve been twice and each time I get the Cuban. I figured that’s what I would order if I actually were in Cuba lol. Do Cubans actually eat Cuban sandwiches or is that just an American thing? I need to research that. The Cuban at The Liquor Store is very very good! It’s a hefty sized sandwich and definitely shareable. I had fries the first time I visited and plantain chips the second go round. I wasn’t a fan of the plantain chips. Not that they aren’t good, I just don’t think my taste buds like the actual taste of a plantain.

I think The Liquor Store is definitely worth a try. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends because of it’s smaller size. I love the feel of this place. That coupled with decent pricing makes it an appealing choice. It would be so much better if there was a beach outside.
