Yo, did y’all know about Milk Dessert Bar? Ok maybe I’m late, but this place is awesome! I love sweets way more than I love tacos and this place certainly fuels my addiction to sugar. I literally had 3 different things. Granted I shared them with my sister and her friend, I still pigged out and don’t feel ashamed at all. Fight me bro.Read More
Fellas, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and it’s time to figure out what to get your lady or ladies if you’re a player. Yeah I know you’ve waited until the last minute because I would always wait until the last minute. You’re scouring the internet looking for something decent that can be delivered the day of. Trust me, they don’t wanna hear it was delayed in shipping.
I’ve got you covered mane. Check this out. Don’t stress it because women aren’t as complex as we’ve been led to believe. They don’t all want huge displays of love like we’ve been told. Unless there’s a hating chick at her job. In that case, do something showy at the office. Other than that, women just want food! Yes, that’s it! But not just a plate of food. Turn it into a well thought out evening.
How? Skip flowers because they will die anyways. Get her favorite bottle of wine, order a 20 piece order of wings, and get a romantic movie like Love Jones or Love and Basketball and BOOM you’ve won bro! Throw in a bubble bath and a massage for extra points. Seems too simple right? Well it is that simple assuming you present it the right way. Make it about her fam. A romantic evening that’s just about you two and you’re actually paying attention!!?? Win fam!! Put the phone away and tend to that lady mane! Now this is truly #FreeGame.

Life is for Living,
I like to think I have a pretty good ear for music. Especially hip hop music. I grew up in a time when we experienced some of the best music lyrically made; the late 90’s and early 2000s. It’s hard to top a time when Tupac, Biggie, OutKast, Jay Z, Nas, and TI were killing it on the mainstream level. You also had your more regional powerhouses in Three 6 Mafia, Talib Kweli, No Limit, Cash Money Records, Tech N9ne, and the group I feel was far ahead of their time, PM Dawn. That era of rap was everything. I say all that to say; I have a thing for lyrically driven music. Enter Tori WhoDat.
She probably doesn’t remember but I first met Tori back in 2014. She was on stage at The New Daisy opening for some artist I can’t remember. My first thought was, “Who the hell is this little girl and why is she on stage?” Suddenly she spit a few lines and I was hooked. Not only was Tori wild as hell, she was lyrically gifted. They say never judge a book by its cover, right? Well, I did and ended up looking dumb.
Over the years, I’ve watched that skinny, wild kid jumping all over the stage grow into a skinny, focused and composed artist. The transformation is very evident. Most rappers get in their niche and never venture out, but Tori WhoDat has totally elevated herself musically and professionally. I last saw her not opening, but headlining at HiTone with Lil Wyte and Frayser Boy. Pretty good company to be involved with with based on their success and longevity. Honestly, I’m honored she still even knows my name.
With this shoot, I wanted to capture the essence of not only Tori WhoDat, but also Tori the person. We tend to get lost in our own personas at times and Gucci Mane said don’t get lost in the sauce. So who is Tori? Honestly, she’s one of the nicest and funniest people I know. Incredibly humble and appreciative, Tori the person is awesome. Tori WhoDat is the powerful, raw lyrical beast that’s packaged behind a those mysterious eyes. I dig the balance. It’s kinda like the Light and Dark side of the Force. I also love that Tori isn’t afraid to be herself in a world that doesn’t always welcome individuality. That’s definitely a sign of maturity and self love.
You owe it to yourself to check out the work of Tori WhoDat. I’m awaiting her release of “The Come Up”, a playlist from music from 2014 and 2015. Search Tori WhoDat everywhere! That’s on Facebook, SoundCloud, IG, Twitter, and YouTube. You’ll find more info about upcoming projects, music and updates. Drop a comment and let me know what you think.

Life is for Living,
I live a truly techie life. I have various gadgets that keep me connected to my various services and apps. As a blogger and photographer, I really need to have my gear with me at all times. I also need that gear to not only be extremely portable, but it also needs to keep me connected to all my other devices and play nicely. My camera has WiFi and I'm able to transfer, edit, view images on my iPhone 8 plus, but the screen is too small for serious work. Pulling out the MacBook Pro can be cumbersome at times. I also produce a weekly podcast so a simpler way to record and edit them while on the go.
After years of living in the Android ecosystem, I made the jump to Apple. Specifically the MacBook Pro. I followed that up with an amazing deal on a 27 inch iMac. This set up works great but I also love to edit and write while lounging around the house. The MacBook isnt always the best option for this. I've found myself editing more and more on my iPhone because I love the touch based interface. Enter the iPad Pro.
For years, I’ve said the iPad was just a glorified iPhone. I didn’t see it being capable of being a device I could use for more than YouTube videos. Seeing what I'm capable of with my iPhone 8, I decided I need something just as portable but more powerful. I waited and researched and decided to take the plunge for the new 10.5 iPad Pro. I picked up a 256GB LTE variant after seeing all it was capable of. I also picked up the Apple Pencil, Smart Cover, Lightning to SD adapter and the Lightning to USB adapter.
I have 14 days with the device to decide if I want to keep it or return it. I’m actually writing this post on the iPad Pro now! Something that was hard to do on my iPhone yet pretty simple on my iMac or MacBook Pro. My problem is I'm usually creative in the weirdest places....ie in the bathroom or laying upside down in my chair. Let's see if the iPad Pro can keep up with my blogging, photography, podcasting and general tasks. I will do updates on my workflow every couple of days and see if this device is the device that I will put into my photograph bag. Stay tuned!
Life is for Living,
It’s that time of year again! Well, kinda. Maybe. It’s complicated. We just recently had Halloween, which I love BTW, but now we skipped right to Christmas. What?? Hold up! I thought there was a holiday stuffed in there. Well, there is, but the world seems to neglect it like a bad ex.
I wonder why.
I do have an idea. It’s revolves around money. As soon as the decorations go up, people instinctively go into shopping mode. I’m sure this is the time of year tons of cash is spent on things that will either be lost by April or in the garage never to be seen again.
Personally, I love Thanksgiving more than Christmas. It wasn’t always this way. As a kid, Christmas was everything, but now I’m more excited about the foods of Thanksgiving. Also, more of my family gets together for Thanksgiving than Christmas because they have their own little families now.
Even though the streets are lined with the wrong holiday season decorations, I’m in Thanksgiving mode. I got time for Christmas. I just want turkey and dressing, sweet potato pie, and football!! Gobble gobble friends!
